This six-hour class over three weeks will have you mastering stranded colourwork while making a beautiful Christmas stocking!

Skill Level Required: Advanced beginner to intermediate knitter. Must be comfortable knitting, purling, basic increases and know how to knit in the round

Here is what you will learn in this class:

• stranded colourwork
• reading colourwork charts
• how to catch floats
• short row heel

• Charts to create a personalized name on your stocking

Materials supplied by students:

• 2 colours of worsted weight yarn, 100g for each colour.  Be sure to pick high contrast colours to ensure you can see the colourwork!  Note: non-superwash yarn is best for colourwork; yarn suggestions: Cascade 220, Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok
• 5mm (US 8) needles, your preference for knitting in the round small circumference (double pointed needles, long circular for magic loop, 12” circular), or size required to meet gauge.  Note: DPN’s or long circular will be required to start your toe
• Stitch markers (optional, but always good to have on hand!)
• Darning needle
• Pen or pencil (if desired to take notes)
